Privacy Policy

Short version

We collect no personal information. We do not require an account. We do not track you across sites. We do not sell data. The tool works offline: your text never leaves your device except to be transliterated by our server (and we do not log it).

Data stored in your browser (localStorage)

• bel3arabe_input: your last typed Arabizi text, to restore your session when you navigate back.
• bel3arabe_edited: any manual edits you made to the Arabic output.
• bel3arabe_weights: a map of which Arabic spellings you preferred for each Latin word, used to personalise suggestions. Stays on your device.

All of this data stays in your browser. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings or by pressing Clear on the main page.

Community learning (server-side)

When you click a suggestion chip to correct a spelling, the pair of (Latin word, chosen Arabic word) is sent to our server and stored in a database. For example: ("habibi", "حبيبي"). This is used to improve results for all users.

We store no personal identifier alongside these pairs. They are fully anonymous. We never store the full text you type.

Third-party links

The Google Search, Google Translate, WhatsApp, and Dictionary buttons open external websites in a new tab. Once you leave bel3arabe.com, their own privacy policies apply. We do not share data with them.

Analytics and third parties

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It is privacy-friendly, uses no cookies, and collects no personally identifiable information.

When you press the Listen button, the Arabic text is sent to a Google text-to-speech service through our server so it can be read aloud. If you do not use Listen, no text is sent for speech.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This allows Google to show you personalised ads.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more on how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's policy. You can also manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

Ownership

bel3arabe.com is a proprietary service. The transliteration engine, lexicon, data, brand, and design are owned by us and are not open-source or licensed for reuse. The service is for personal use through this website only. See the Terms for details.
